How to Remove Residual Air After Testing in a Sulfur Dioxide Test Chamber

Release time:2025-04-17

The sulfur dioxide test chamber utilizes sulfur dioxide gas to accelerate the corrosion of materials or products under specific temperature and relative humidity conditions, replicating the extent of damage they would suffer over a certain period. This equipment can be used to evaluate the resistance of materials and their protective coatings to sulfur dioxide corrosion, compare the quality of similar protective coating processes, and assess the sulfur dioxide corrosion resistance of certain products.

Sulfur Dioxide Test Chamber

As is widely known, sulfur dioxide in the test chamber is a toxic gas. Improper gas discharge or the release of filtered residual gas into the air can cause significant harm to human health. Our company has conducted specialized research and development on this system, ensuring not only strict filtration of residual gases but also introducing a new feature to the equipment.

In the event of a harmful gas leak from the sulfur dioxide test chamber's cylinder, the conventional approach is to use an exhaust fan to vent the gas. However, our equipment now features an automatic filtration function. When a gas leak occurs, an external alarm will activate. Simply pressing the automatic filtration switch will enable the system to filter the harmful gas before discharging it, making the process highly environmentally friendly and further enhancing personal safety.

Recommendation
Rapid temperature change rate has become a critical benchmark for test chambers.
The Neutral Salt Spray (NSS) test is the go-to laboratory method, but does it really capture what happens out at sea? Below, we break down why NSS falls short and what engineers and researchers should do instead.
A thermal vacuum chamber (TVC) is the fastest, most reliable way to prove your hardware can survive both extremes.
In product-quality labs, thermal-shock chambers are the go-to tool for recreating brutal temperature swings—think –40 °C to 150 °C in minutes.
